How do you border these pieces to prevent damage and decrease gaps between pieces?

I'm starting to make modular trench terrain, and am currently using 3mm plywood to border my terrain. When pieced together, the plywood is not visible.
Just wondering if we could share advice.

The million dollar question Smile
To keep the weight and cost low, I avoid wood. One of the purposes of the Kickstarter will be to create base molds where either aluminum or plastic will "fold and protect the styrofoam sides (not that I have had any durability issues with blue styrofoam so far, and it has taken a lot of punishement).
The gap is a different matter. I cut the grass mat with some excess to cover over the seam and magnets of the sides. But it still shows (only at 1mm, but you can spot it).
How do you cover it?
